Privacy Policy

Captured Chaos ("we", "us") is operated by Captured Chaos LLC. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Captured Chaos iPhone app and why.

What we collect. Photos you choose: when you place an order, the photos you selected are uploaded securely so we can print your keepsake. We only receive photos you pick and approve. If you subscribe to the Monthly Chaos Pack, the app also looks at your recent photos on your phone to suggest your pack (see below); nothing leaves your phone until you approve it. Your design: the edits you make (crop, frame, text) are saved with your order so we can print exactly what you saw on screen. Order and shipping details: your name, shipping address, email, and order contents, used to fulfill, deliver, and send updates about your order. Payment: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's handling of your data is described in Stripe's privacy policy.

What we do with it. We use your information only to produce, ship, and support your orders. We do not sell your data, use your photos for advertising or model training, or share them with anyone except the service providers who help us print and deliver your order.

Photo review. To keep our print facility safe and lawful, uploaded photos may be screened by automated systems, with human review only when content is flagged.

Voice notes (Hear It). If you choose to record a voice note while designing a magnet or scrapbook page, the app uses your microphone only while you are recording, for up to one minute. You can also choose a voice memo or a video instead; the app keeps only its sound (up to one minute) and the video itself never leaves your phone. The recording is uploaded with your order and stored privately. A member of our team listens to it before creating the QR code for the back of your magnet; until then it cannot be played. Once approved, anyone who scans that QR code can listen to it, so share the magnet with people you trust. Voice notes are free, are never sold, and are never used for advertising or to train any model. Delete one anytime by emailing capturedchaosllc@gmail.com; deleting your account deletes all of them and their QR codes stop working.

Videos on magnets (Relive). If you add videos to a magnet, the app keeps only the part you trimmed (one video up to 90 seconds, or up to 3 clips of 30 seconds each), framed to the magnet, and uploads it with your order together with an image of your magnet's design, which is what a phone camera recognizes to play the video. Videos are stored privately and a member of our team watches them before they can play. Once approved, anyone with the card in your box can watch them: pointing an iPhone at the magnet plays them on it, and other phones play them on a web page. Share the card with people you trust. Recognizing a magnet happens on the viewer's phone; the camera image is never uploaded. Unlike photos, approved videos are kept for as long as the magnet is in use, so they keep playing. Videos are free, never sold, and never used for advertising or to train any model. Delete them anytime by emailing capturedchaosllc@gmail.com; deleting your account deletes them and the card stops working.

Sharing your magnets (optional). At checkout you can tick a box to let us share photos of your magnets on our social media and in ads. It is off unless you tick it. We only show the magnets, never your name, address or order details. To withdraw permission for an order, email capturedchaosllc@gmail.com and we will stop using it in anything new.

Shared fridges. You can show your fridge (the magnets you have ordered) to family and friends, and see fridges they share with you. It is off until you turn it on. To share or be invited you pick a username and agree to our Community rules. Your username is the only thing other people see about you. Nobody can browse or search for you: someone has to type your exact username to invite you.

Who can see your fridge. Only people you invite, and only after they accept. They see your magnets as printed and the month each one was ordered. They never see your name, email, phone, address, prices, order details or voice notes. Photos only appear on a shared fridge after they pass our photo review. You can remove anyone at any time, and anyone can leave a fridge shared with them. If you block someone, sharing ends both ways and neither of you can find or invite the other.

Reports. If you report a fridge or a photo, we store the report (who reported, who was reported, the reason, and the photo if there was one) and email our team. We review every report within 24 hours and may remove photos or accounts that break the Community rules. Deleting your account removes your username, everyone you shared with, your blocks and the reports you made.

Monthly Chaos Pack. If you subscribe, once a month the app looks at photos from the last 30 days on your phone to suggest 6 for your pack. That happens only on your phone; nothing is uploaded until you approve the pack, and then only the photos you approved. If you add family members to receive a copy (Grandma's Fridge), we store their name and shipping address in your account to ship their pack; remove them anytime in the app. Subscriptions are billed monthly by Stripe; skip, pause or cancel anytime in the app.

Retention and deletion. Uploaded photos and print files are deleted on a fixed schedule after your order is delivered (30 days). Order records (without photos) are kept as required for accounting. Your Fridge: when you order magnets while signed in to your account, we keep the original photos of those magnets and a small preview of everything you printed, so your account can show every magnet you have ordered and reprint them (for example as a Year of Chaos book). Only you and our print team can see them. They are deleted when you delete your account in the app (Account, then Delete account); photos from an order still being made are deleted once it has been delivered. To request earlier deletion of any photo, contact capturedchaosllc@gmail.com with your order number.

Your choices. Photo library and microphone access can be revoked anytime in iOS Settings. For any privacy request (access, deletion, questions), email capturedchaosllc@gmail.com.

Children. Captured Chaos is used by parents and other adults; accounts are for adults only and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Photos and voice notes of children are recorded and ordered by the adult account holder, who decides what to include and can delete it as described above.

Changes. We'll update this page when the policy changes and note the date above.
